Kansas Yellow Dot

What is Yellow Dot?

The Yellow Dot program was created to help senior citizens to communicate during an automobile accident, when they may not be able to communicate for themselves. This lifesaving program is sponsored by the Lyon County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, the Trusler Foundation, and the Emporia Fire Department.

Any senior citizen in Lyon County age 55+ can receive a Yellow Dot kit free of charge

What does the Yellow Dot Kit include?

  • Set of detailed instructions

How does the Yellow Dot Program Work?

  1. Place the Yellow Dot sticker on the inside of the driver’s side, front windshield (one dot per vehicle).
  2. Fill out the medical information form. Attach a recent photo of yourself to the form. Place the form and the photo in the yellow envelope. Place the yellow envelope in your glove box.
  3. For additional drivers, place additional medical information forms in the yellow envelope. You may have several medical information forms in one envelope, however, be sure to attach a recent photo of each individual for each medical information form.
