The purpose of the Lyon County Law Library (LCLL) is to provide legal information support to attorney members of the LCLL. Physical access is available to library members during courthouse hours - typically, 8-5 Mon - Fri.

Public access is available Wed & Thurs mornings from 9 to noon, or by appointment - call or email to make arrangements. The librarian is on-site Wed & Thursday mornings, Thursday afternoon and other times by appointment.

Online databases available onsite include HeinOnline, Kansas.gov, Lexis and Westlaw.

Checkout Policy
Full checkout privileges are limited to attorney members of the law library, City of Emporia and Lyon County employees. Checkout privileges for the public are limited to the NOLO books.

Lyon County Law Library

The Constitution: Dead or Alive?
Jack Focht, Special Counsel at Foulston-Siefkin-Wichita, will be the speaker for this year's Constitution Day event, a collaboration between the Lyon County Law Library, Emporia League of Women Voters and Emporia State University. The event will be held Thurs, September 16 from 6 to 8 pm on ESU campus (location to be determined). Cost is free & open to the public.

CLE Opportunity - Lunch & Learn

Effective Oral Argument Techniques will be presented Wed, Sept 29 from 12 to 1pm at the Lyon County Courthouse (courtroom to be determined). Matthew Maloney of the Sedwick County Attorney's office will be our speaker. One credit of CLE has been applied for. Cost is free to members of the LCLL and $25 for non-members. Bring your sack lunch & learn how to effectively present in appellate court!
