The purpose of the Lyon County Law Library (LCLL) is to provide legal information support to attorney members of the LCLL. Physical access is available to library members during courthouse hours - typically, 8-5 Mon - Fri.

Public access is available Wed & Thurs mornings from 9 to noon, or by appointment - call or email to make arrangements. The librarian is on-site Wed & Thursday mornings, Thursday afternoon and other times by appointment.

2009 CLEs

HIPAA Law is the topic for the July 15 CLE scheduled for the jury assembly room of the Lyon County Courthouse, 430 Commercial from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Frankie Forbes of Holbrook & Osborn, P.A., will be the speaker for this event, which is sponsored by the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas. Lunch will be provided and registration is free. Click here for the registration form, which must be returned by July 8, 2009. The Kansas CLE Commission has approved this event for 2 credits.

Coming in October -
Trial Techniques, a 4-hour in-house CLE that will use DVDs from The Trial Lawyer: What It Takes To Win from the American Bar Association as the course materials. The CLE will be held in two 2-hour sessions.Participants are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions to hear our local judges' commentary on the ABA materials. Save the dates: Oct 7 and 14 from 11 am to 1 pm.
